Why We Close for Holidays (and Why That’s a Good Thing for Everyone)
If you’ve tried to book a class this August, you might’ve noticed a short break in our timetable. Yes—it’s true—we’re closing for two weeks this summer. And no, it’s not because we don’t love what we do.
It’s because we do.
We close for holidays because we believe in rest. In resetting. In stepping away so we can come back sharper, stronger, and more present for the people in the room—you.
Teaching is physical—and emotional.
Pilates teachers don’t just cue exercises and count reps. We watch, listen, adapt. We hold space for people going through everything from injuries to big life changes. It’s the most rewarding work in the world—but it’s also demanding.
Time off helps us show up fully when it counts.
We’re a family business—not a machine.
There’s no corporate rota or 24-hour handover here. Just us—mother, daughter, a brilliant small team—and the clients we know by name.
This year, we’re taking a full two weeks over summer. But that might not always be the case. As our team grows, we’re working towards more continuity, fewer closures, and even more flexibility for you.
Still, we’ll always protect our team’s need to rest—because it benefits you too.
Joseph Pilates believed in balance. So do we.
He once said, “A body freed from nervous tension is the ideal shelter provided by nature for housing a well-balanced mind.”
That balance doesn’t come from endless go-go-go. It comes from pressing pause. Letting your nervous system settle. Rebuilding strength from a place of calm.
It’s true in your practice, and it’s true for us too.
We’ll be back soon—and better for it.
When we return, we’ll bring fresh eyes, new ideas, and the energy you deserve. We’re already excited for September and everything it brings.
