It Takes a Village (and We’ve Got a Brilliant One)

The People Who Make EQ Feel Like Home

Whether you’ve been coming to EQ for years or have only just joined us, you’ve probably felt it — that extra something in the air. It’s not just the beautiful space or the brilliant equipment. It’s the people. From Linda and Sharon, to Ali, Claire, Sam, Yvonne, Liv, and me — we’ve built a team of teachers who genuinely care. Who notice the little things, who bring their full selves to class, and who make EQ feel like home. We’re proud to introduce you to the people behind the sessions — the ones who keep the studio moving, laughing, and growing.

A Family Business, Through and Through

EQ is a true family affair. I run the studio alongside my mum Linda, my dad and my husband Anthony. Between us, we’ve poured our hearts (and a fair bit of sweat) into building this space from the ground up — painting walls, building equipment, cleaning mats, managing bookings, and teaching sessions. It’s personal, and it always has been.

We’re proud that EQ isn’t backed by big investors — it’s built by us, held together with love, hard work, and a shared vision.

Our Teachers: Passionate, Skilled, and Full of Heart

  • LindaFounder of EQ and the heart of the studio since 2001, Mum is the reason we’re all here. Linda brings decades of teaching experience, a brilliant eye for detail, and an intuitive sense of what each client needs. She’s direct in the best possible way — honest, clear, and always focused on helping people. She’s also the only person who can turn up late and still instantly lift the whole room. Her knowledge runs deep, her humour runs dry, and EQ simply wouldn’t exist without her.

  • Sharon – A true EQ original, Sharon has been part of our story since day one and is absolutely the soul of the team. Now based in Aberdyffi, she still travels back each week to teach — because EQ just wouldn’t feel the same without her. Her warmth fills the room, and her sessions are the perfect mix of fun, familiarity, and strength.

  • Ali – Our pocket rocket and all-around movement powerhouse. Ali is a clinical Pilates teacher and massage therapist with a hands-on, practical approach to getting people moving — no matter their starting point. She brings serious energy, deep knowledge, and a fierce belief that movement is for everyone. Her sessions are dynamic, supportive, and full of purpose.

  • ClaireNurse, Pilates teacher, and EQ’s very own NHS hero. Claire brings a clear, compassionate approach to every class — combining her medical background with a love of movement that helps people feel safe, capable, and empowered. She’s got a knack for putting people at ease and a reputation for being both straight-talking and full of fun.

  • Sam – For years, Sam was the friendly face welcoming you at reception, but now she’s doing what she loves most — teaching full-time. Sam brings the same warmth and personal connection to her classes that she always gave clients off the mat. Encouraging, calm, and deeply caring, her love for Pilates shines through every session. along with a running stream of silly jokes that she fully expects you to laugh at

  • Yvonne – With her dry wit and cheeky sense of humour, Yvonne brings refreshing energy to every class. She knows just how to push people without overwhelming them, encouraging hard work, consistency, and plenty of laughs along the way. Her sessions are equal parts challenge and cheerleading — and her clients love her for it.

  • Liv – The newest face on Team EQ, Liv brings a burst of enthusiasm, focus, and polish to the studio. A law graduate (yes, she’s seriously clever!), with a love of early mornings, movement, and all things Pilates, she balances life between Sutton and London with impressive ease.

  • Me (Sarah) – I teach because Pilates changed my life. It gave me a different body, a clearer mind, and a deep respect for the classical method — and I want to help others feel that too. I’m also the creator of Legacy, our mentoring program for teachers who want to dive deeper and teach with more confidence and clarity. I believe in good movement, strong community, and that we’re all capable of more than we think.

  • (And we have a new teacher joining us very soon — stay tuned for their official introduction!)

Behind the Scenes: The Quiet Powerhouses

Some of the most important people at EQ don’t stand at the front of the class — but the studio couldn’t run without them:

  • Anthony – My husband and our Studio Manager. Anthony recently stepped into this role and has already transformed our day-to-day operations. From scheduling and logistics to admin systems and client communication, he keeps the back end of EQ running smoothly — and calmly.

  • Dad – Our DIY expert and caretaker. From paint touch-ups to power tool emergencies, Dad has been quietly holding the studio together since 2001. If something’s broken, he’s already halfway through fixing it.

  • Diane – Our wonderful cleaner, who keeps the studio fresh, polished, and perfectly maintained. Her care and attention to detail are a huge part of what makes EQ feel so clean, calm, and loved.

Why This Team Matters

Every member of our team brings their own unique strengths — different backgrounds, teaching styles, and personalities — but what unites us is a shared purpose: to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and strong.

This isn’t just a Pilates studio — it’s a place where people feel seen. Where we check in, follow up, and genuinely care. The relationships we’ve built over the years are what make EQ feel like home, and that connection is at the heart of everything we do.

We are so proud of this group of humans, and we’re excited for what’s ahead. Thank you for trusting us with your movement, your time, and your stories. We never take it for granted.
